Human Code is about how we work together. It isn’t about identifying anyone
If your organisation has booked Human Code, this page tells you what will happen, what won’t, and why. Please share it with anyone who is wondering.
What will happen
- Hear a straightforward, jargon-free explanation of neurodiversity and why it matters at work
- Look at how people work and communicate differently, including you
- Talk about practical things: instructions, meetings, workload, change, feedback
- Learn simple ways colleagues can support one another, whoever they are
- Leave with a few small changes you can use straight away
What will not happen
- You will not be asked to disclose anything
- Nobody is being taught to diagnose colleagues
- Nobody in the room becomes a case study
- Nobody will be singled out, labelled or put on the spot
- Nothing you say in the room is recorded against you
Relevant whether you are neurodivergent or not
Everybody works and communicates a bit differently. Human Code is practical management training for everyone: a shared way of thinking about how people do their best work, and the small changes that help.
Common questions
Straight answers
Is this about me?
No. Human Code is about how everyone works together. It is relevant whether you are neurodivergent or not, and it is not about identifying anyone.
Will I have to say whether I have a diagnosis?
No. Nobody attending Human Code is ever asked to disclose a diagnosis, identify themselves as neurodivergent, discuss personal medical information or identify anyone else.
Is my manager being trained to spot conditions?
No. Human Code does not teach managers or colleagues to identify autism, ADHD, dyslexia or any other condition. The principle is: see the need, respond to the need, don’t diagnose the reason.
Does this mean standards are being lowered?
No. Better understanding does not mean lower standards. It means clearer expectations and better support to meet them.
What if I do want to tell someone something?
That is entirely your choice, in your own time, and your organisation’s normal confidentiality applies. Human Code teaches managers how to respond well if somebody chooses to share something.
How long is it?
The all-staff session is two hours, delivered live by a Human Code trainer, either online or in person.
Is it theory-heavy?
No. Enough to make sense of the subject, then practical. The focus is on what people can actually do differently.
